Thank you, Bacardi, for reminding me why you suck

What always goes through my head when I see such incredibly disgusting advertising campaigns like Bacardi’s  “Ugly Girlfriend” ad: who in the hell thought that this would be a good idea?

What’s even more disgusting is it’s probably going to be a success.  I, however, won’t be buying any Bacardi products anytime soon.  Not that I ever really did, but now aside from their diluted, sugar-laden, over-priced beverages, and their mostly sub-par product line, I can add misogyny to the laundry list of reasons why Bacardi sucks.

(Something else that runs through my head: what makes a woman want to subject herself to such blatant abuse by being photographed for an ad like this?  Or are these stock photos?) Thanks @melaniemcbride for sharing this…

uh.. what? I don’t even understand this. Is there some kind of a joke here?

“Buy our product so you’ll get an ugly girlfriend because you’ll be drunk and not know”

“Buy our product if your girlfriend’s ugly so you’ll forget”

“Buy our product if you’re so ugly that getting a hot girl drunk really wouldn’t do it for you and your only chance would be getting an ugly desperate girl drunk and trying to go for that.”

“Show everyone how attractive and capable you are by getting an undesirable girlfriend. Also, display your ugly girlfriend in many public social places. This message brought to you by Baccardi.”
